  • LT1 Headers, ceramic coated or jet hot coated?

What's the difference in Jet Hot coating and ceramic coating on Headers? I was searching for LT1 headers and frankly don't know the difference.

Jet Hot is a ceramic-metallic heat control coating. No different than what you get from AirBorn, HPC, etc. Swain makes a similar coating that is a little more into the ceramic side, and apparently not quite as high in the metallic component.

But all the above work the same. The coating is applied to both the inside and outside of the header, with the purpose of keeping the heat in the exhaust gasses, and preventing it from flowing through the header metal.

Coatings called "chrome", "nickle", "high temperature", etc. are not the same, and do not provide the same protection as the cera-metallic coatings.
