97 3800 related question

does anyone know if the Hypertech power programmer 3 sold for the standard v-6 will work with the 3800 series? I e-mailed the company with this question over a week ago, & still haven't gotten a responce.

Isn't the 3800 series V6 the "standard V6"? Or was it still the 3400 in 97?
