  • Car won't start at times...

Ok this is the deal....freakin i have a 94 pontiac firebird V-8 and i have an aftermarket security system on it and i ain't to sure if it came stock with a security system cause when i open my doors and put my key in the ignition and go to start my car....it doesn't start...and the security light is on...it has only done this today it is the first time but i has happened like 3 times already for the day...so i don't know what is the deall....is there a way i can disable the stock security system....i think that the stock system kicks in cause it wasn't disabled...previously....and then it kicks in and then it doesn't allow me to start my car.....is there anything i can do to freakin stop that from happening...i am sure that i have enought power...cause i have a Capacitor with a digital display that lets me know how much battery power i have and it never goes under like 11.8 V...so it isn't that i have a bad battery or anything i really think it is the stock security system...anyone have any thoughts on this...please let me know it is freakin me off.....

might it be the VATS security system???
had that happen on my 95 lumina (daily driver)
replaced the ignition and had new (pelet) key cut.
    good luck,

Do a search on this forum for "Security Light". You'll find info about the ignition key possibly being the problem. My son's 97 Firebird did this, and we figured out that it was the generic key that he was using, that was the problem. The computer chips in them can go bad and the car won't start. and you will get that security light.
