    why most ppls want to race camaro,firebird and mustang ? don't they know already those car have some power ?
    can you tell whose going to win b4 you race them ? i mean i'm talking about V8 the most power full engine.Because if you guys watch news most street racing are mustang camaro and firebird.couple month ago 1 mustang driver got killed did a street racing. he drove 84 ford mustang v8 and hits the traffic pole and split that mustang in half. bottom line stop racing your car on the street and start enjoy your car and know your car .       most of the street racing today is japanese imports. ie: ricers... all sizes.... some with only the 'trashcan muffler mod'.......... they are like flies, everywhere.

      i dont really agree that its all mustangs, birds, and maro's......

        It may seem like like the V8's are the problem but the reason you never here about import drag racing is cause they are so slow that you can't wreck'em?

          i mean by "most ppls want to race mustang bird or camaro "are some import or american car everytime they seen mustang or f bird and camaro on the street they just like want to race them. specialist for ricer if they seen camaro mustang and fbird they think like they can beat us. don't they know that 4 banger kinda hard or more like imposibble to beat V8.and so far i have seen camaro mustang most end up fatality. cos kindahard to control V8 on some speed then controling 4 banger.

              I'll rewrite it in english.

              What I mean by saying "most people want to race a Mustang, Bird or Camaro" is that those are the cars owners of imports and other American cars typically look for to race against. Especially for ricers, if they see a Mustang, Camaro or Firebird they think they can beat us. They dont realize that their four cylinder engine is not likely to beat a V8. So far I have seen mostly Camaros and Mustangs end up in fatal accidents and I suspect that is due to the fact it is harder to control the power of the V8.

                  I dont think that 'tuners' think they can beat us, its just that by some chance they do they will have mad bragging rights. I hate cars like that that are all electronics instead of pure freakin muscle. But yeah, its definetly a bragging right kind of thing they that want to acheive.

                    It depends who you talk to. There's a good deal of them that think they actually CAN beat us. They think that, even though their motor has half the cylinders and roughly 1/3 the displacement, that since their cars are "lighter" and have over-head cams that they are faster. Truth be known, that's a load of crap as we all know, since they have no torque curve, their peak torque is low and at a high RPM, their horsepower is equivalent to the 3.8 V6 F-bods at best (maybe slightly more occasionaly), and they have to rely on either a turbo or NOS to even keep up with us. Some stupid putz in a CRX wanted to race me. He gutted the interior, slapped a fart can on, probably did a motor swap, had that stupid flat black paint job and still got handed his butt by my "outdated" pushrod V8. The reason so many F-bodies and mudstains get wrecked isn't because its hard to handle the V8, its because people either get too crazy for their own good or have no real experience on controlling the V8. Its not the car, its the driver.

                        The only constructive point I will add to this is that there are more and more 4 bangers out there that are being built to keep up. I just finished helping my buddy install a built 2.2 turbo in his shelby charger. Hes looking to run deep 12's. I had a students last year that ran a 12.5 @ 115mph in a civic. He was a high school senior - great kid too- not the hat on sideways, leaned back in the backseat, smoking a doobie while driving kid you usually find in in a riced out civic. Theres really quite a few, so dont get caught getting too cocky

                              Are you going to tell us about the car? What did it take for a Civic to run 12.5?
