OK, so I'm getting a second car for the new wife!
Were buying from a friend that we know well. It's a '98 Sebring Convertible Limited. Really nice car, I just wish it had a little more power (2.5L 168hp/170). I do see why it's the highest selling 'vert out there though. The rear window is large. The blind spots and rear visibility are not that much worse than my Camaro. The trunk is generous and there's plenty of room for 2 more people in the back. It does have one oddity...the battary has to be removed from the tire well.
Anyway it has 110,000 on it, he's the only owner and has done a good job in keeping up with maintenance. Relatively new plugs, wires, timing belt, serpantine belt, coolent, trans fluid etc.. The only major mechanical problems have been an alternator (replaced at 90k) and the wheel bearings on the front driver's side. I'm paying 5k, but the going rate for those on the market is at least 7k, so I figure the money I'll save will go into any large repairs needed in the future.
Is there anything else I can do maintenance wise that may have been missed? New coolent hoses maybe?
This is going to be a fun car and good highway cruiser. I can't wait till I hit it with the Zaino. The paint is in very good shape. It'll look great!
