  • NFB......Exhaust Questions.....

Hey guys, a guy I know has a 95 C3500 Longbed with standard cab. It has the 454 7.4 liter. He has been looking at a Gibson catback system for the truck recently. We got down under the truck today and I have never seen an exhaust system like this one. We think it is the stock system also. It looks like the exhaust runs freely from the exhaust manifold back about halfway through the bed, then through a regular stock muffler and THEN through a catalytic converter type deal. It looks like a round muffler and immediately after that a catalytic converter? I thought the catalytic converter always comes before the muffler? Anyways, they make gibson systems for this truck but I dont understand how with the way it is set up. Can someone please give me an idea of the way this stock exhaust system is made up? Thanks for any info and sorry it isn't related to F-bodies!

i think what you see is a resonator...even the gm SUV's are using them now..to make them super quiet. check way up by the manifolds for the cats... however... keep in mind.. after 8500 GVW... emissions dont come into play as much.
