  • INJUNEER ??? Manual lockup switch!!!!!!

    How do I go about making one.

    97 4L60E
    94 reflashed PCM[Ed Wright]
    95 wiring harness

    Everything works fine,just the lockup that doesn't.

    What wire on the tranny do I need?

    There's a lot of things I don't know much about, and an auto tranny is one of them. When I decided on the TH400, I took it to my favorite shop and said "give me one like his"..... so.... I can't help on this one.

        I'm going to look into that when I get time to open up the manuals. I'll try to remember to make a post about it - I'm going to figure out what to do this winter, then probably try it next spring. Otherwise, you could probably find out what to do on CamaroZ28.com because they have plenty of good motorheads there that are highly technical. I want to get some trick switches for the line lock and TC lockup and might look into the Greddy remote switches that mount on the wheel with velcro for whenever you need them, and they remote to a module that runs relays, solenoids, etc for whatever you need. They also have a cool analog switch that can run off any signal (TPS, etc.) to switch N2O or fuel pump, or some other equipment - although I just might design my own with a little window switch circuit & a FET. Good winter projects...

          OK, I had a chance to look this up. Here's what the manual says:

          Connecter D (Blue) on the PCM
          Pin 11 (tan/black wire) is the TCC Solenoid control
          Pin 6 (brown wire) is the TCC PWM Solenoid control

          The PCM grounds these to energize the solenoids. I think the PWM valve feeds the main valve - both of these probably need to be grounded to make it lock up. I won't get to it until next spring due to weather, so if you beat me to it, let me know how it goes. Also, remember the brake switch unlocks it.

            Yep,,,discovered that this afternoon,better to switch off before braking,it sort of feel;s like neutral if yopu press on the gas after braking!!!

            Also if you forget to take it off and put it in reverse it stalls,,,,I'll get the hang of it though.

            Gas mileage was better than I was hoping for[450+ Kilos]cruising at 65-70 mph.

            It feels very very tight in normal driving,bat out of hell if you stomp on it.

            Missed the last track day of the year so wont know until spring what it runs!!!
