Why can't I change my avatar? the option exists for removing the existing one, but I can't add my new one. What's up with that? I think mine has been there since before the new format change. Maybe something was left out? frustrating when you can't get something to work......

Funny, I was just thinking the same thing. I know on cz28.com, you have to send the administrators the avatar (and $5) to get it loaded. Same on Project TransAm, you have to send the avatar to Kelly (but no money ) and he loads it in a data base, where anyone who wants to use it can do so. Yet I'm on another board where you can load your own.

I tried to change mine a few weeks ago and couldn't. Maybe JR needs to change a setting?

I just tried it and it worked for me, uploaded one or using http:. They both worked. Unless your on a different usergroup, yours should work also.

Joe I know your a moderator so your on a differnet usergroup, so maybe the moderator usergroup settings aren't set right in the admin control panel.

        Just a thought.

I noticed in the past that the file name mattered. Sometimes I used spaces in between and it wouldn't load it. Even a captial start letter caused me some grieve on some boards.

Once I changed the file name to something basic no spaces and all lower letters it worked???

It must be the "moderator" user group thing then.... when I click on Edit Avatar, all I get is the same screen Joe references....
              Your Current Avatar

Avatars are small graphics that are displayed under your username whenever you post.

(check box) Do not use an avatar

Note: if you have a custom avatar selecting this option will delete it.

Clicking on the save changes or reset fields buttons does nothing.

I was pretty sure it was the moderator usergroup. After being the main programmer for an R/C board I'm on, I can narrow problems down pretty quick.
