I'm thinking about changing the engine in my 93 T/A and I'm stuck between three different engines. I have one in mind that i know would be bad ass if it was done the proper way and a whole lot of fun to work on, but the other two also sound like they would be fun. I'm just asking everyones opinion on which of the three i should go with. The three engines are a LS1, LS6, or a 427 Big Block (all of wich i will Port and Polish as well as get 6-speed manual transmission)

I think the comments from the board are going to be it will take a lot of work to switch from an LT1 to an LS1 and a big block will be a stuff and hard to get exhaust manifolds in it. You can make a boat load of horsepower with a LT1 and just isn't worth doing a conversion unless you're rich and have a lot of access to welders and custom header manufacturers.2002 Electron Blue Vette, 1SC, FE3/Z51, G92 3.15 gears, 308.9 RWHP 321.7 RWTQ (before any mods), SLP headers, Z06 exhaust, MSD Ignition Wires, AC Delco Iridium Spark Plugs, 160 t-stat, lots of ECM tuning

If you really want to build that hing and make it different and cheap and not have a big block sticking through the hood(and you know it will), Just throw a Gen II SBC in it. just a regular rear dirtributor, normal cooling lines, and all with some sort of mini Ram Intake or an Accel Super Ram, fast burn or Pontiac heads, and about 383 CI. A motor like that would run you about 5000$ and put out globs of power. Atleast that way all your LT1 bolt ons will work, theres no hard to fit or find parts, and it would be fast as Pooo.1967 VW Bug 2.3L Ford SVO Inline 4 w/ Turbo, Sand-Drag VW Trans Axle, Race this Import.

MSD sells many distributors that offer low profile and great clearance. There was a Green Z28 in GMHT about 6 month ago that had a MSD rear mounted Distributor because the Opti was not going to handel that LT1(It was claiming to be the fastest LT1 [block any way] in the world, I think it ran 8's or 7's). It looked like it fit great behind a LT1 intake just not a lot of room to adjust the timing. I dout anytype of GM HEI would fit but if you go with one of those MSD billit distributors It will work.1967 VW Bug 2.3L Ford SVO Inline 4 w/ Turbo, Sand-Drag VW Trans Axle, Race this Import.
