  • NFB: An observation on "NFB"

I was just looking at the top 10 posts on the forum, and 1/2 of them were marked "NFB". A couple of thoughts....

As a courtesy, "non F-Body" topics should be identified as "NFB" in the topic. I've taken the liberty of editing and adding that designation to the posts that failed to include it.

The volume of political stuff is becoming over-whelming. I thought people came here to talk about the car hobby in general, and the F-Body in particular. I know that's why I come here. While its easy enough to just ignore the posts (at least when properly identified), its discouraging to find out there is so little interest in the purpose of the board.

I think I'm just going to stay away at least until the election is over.... there's really not a lot of value in coming here when the "NFB" stuff starts to displace the intended material.

You are absolutely correct. It just shows that right now, there is something more important than a car. It may be our passion, but it is not our life.

I hope so. I'm considering a 4 wheel drive because of all of the mud slinging.

I think a general discussion area would be a good idea. We could call it the F-body Lounge. All NFB topics/posts would go there. What do you guys think.

It has been taked about before, and the general opinion is no. For as few (typically) posts that are non F-body that we get, it is easier and more convenient to just prefix them NFB. That way you dont have to visit seperate forums to see what the daily talk is about.

After the election is over, it will die down again.

these are very hard times right now. things are scary in America.... it helps to talk about some of it...as long as we dont lash out at eachother. this forum has always been about f body fellowship as well as cars.

not taking away from what you said, Fred.. you are right, there is alot lot more of it going on right now... but I thinks it's because... of uneasy times.

Some people keep overwhelmingly instigating this forum with their political views.

And some (not pointing the finger at anyone) people are not choosing their words wisely. For example, don't say "you're wrong". Instead say "I believe you are incorrect." It's much less offensive. People get offended by "you're wrong" and take that is instigating a fight. This is something a management school taught me years ago.

yes. its ok to discuss things......but lets don't "shove" stuff down folks throats. everyone is entitled to thier opinion and choices. education is the key folks........understanding to follow.

                      lets all respect eachothers thoughts...
