I am the proud owner of a '94 Camaro Z-28. I have the following mods; K&N Cold Air Intake, high-flow catalytic convertor, Edelbrock T.E.S. headers. I have 45,000 on the motor but a lot more on the body, and I am currently in the process of installing a new 4L60E tranny. My problem is that since the header install my under hood temps. went up. Without wrapping the headers what are some good ways to lower temps. on the LT-1. i was thinking Meziere water pump, maybe a new radiator, definetly a new thermostat. The previous owner ran pure water which created some corrosion in the radiator tubes, and rust on the thermostat. I am open to suggestion on how to lower hood temps.

High tech coatings like jet hot or ceramic are the only way to go. Most companies offer that on their headers. The wrappings contribute to metal fatigue and can cause fires.Don't use them. If you don't pull the headers and have them coated, the only other option is to make heat shields out of thermal blankets to protect plug wires and harnesses. It's not going to cut down on the heat, it will just help protect the other stuff.
