What have you done to it already? How many miles does it have? What kind of maintenance has been done already (e.g. Opti, water pump, etc.)? Stick or auto?

How many miles though? Stick or auto? Right off hand, a set of sub-frame connectors, lower control arms, panhard rod, torque arm, intake elbow, 1LE aluminum driveshaft, PCM custom chip, headers, roller rockers, shift kit if you have an auto or a short-throw shifter if you have a stick and maybe a wheel/tire package as far as mods go. For maintenance, I would need to know your mile count and tranny type.

set of heads, headers, intake, and a cam would wake that bad boy up a lot. That's what I'm doing this winter, on top of susp. mods.

Then I gotta meet up with Jay

At 150k, if you haven't done basic maintenance, i would suggest it. New plugs, wires, opti, injectors backflushed and cleaned, fluids/filters changed, 02 sensors if they are gettin bad, de-carbon airflow portion of engine with seafoam, possibly timing chain and valve springs. the o2 sensors and timing chain and valve springs would prolly be something you would want to do if you want to drive many more miles without problems. You can thank joe1320 for the maintenance info, he's the one who enlightened me, and it woke my ride up a bit .

              As for mods....

              Suspension:
              Panhard rod
              LCA's
              subframe connectors
              struts/shocks if needed
              strut tower brace

              Engine:
              CAI
              Full exhaust
Turbo or supercharger if you want serious power (if you go turbo eliminate full exhaust then, get exhaust that would benefit your turbo best, dont have a turbo nor have i worked on one so im not the best there)
              PCM tuning
              roller rockers
              ported/polished heads and intake
              cam

Upgrade your clutch (strongly suggest this one) i have an auto so the manual guys will have better insight

              Wheels and tires

It's all about what you want to achieve with your car. Remember the possibilities are endless.

              Good luck

With $8,000 and 150k I would just do the 396 stroker like you said. Or if your thinking of ever going with forced induction 383 would probably be the way to go. Also put a nice set of heads and a cam in it and your set.

Exactly what he said. For the clutch, If you're gonna use it for a daily driver more than anything, the stock unit is fine. If not, a lot of users here prefer the Spec clutches, although the SLP unit would be worth looking at too if you're not going to get too aggressive with it.

Are you sure you want to spend it ALL on the car? Why not spend a couple grand on the car and invest the rest? You could pay off twards any debt you have too.

Then again, I have no idea what your financial situation is.... Maybe you do have $8K to completely blow.

Whatever you put in your car, expect to get between 1/4-1/3 when you come to sell it. Not a very good return on an investment. I suggest Home Depot stock. I'm not kidding either. Especially with 150k on the clock.
