  • All my old Camaros.

Here is my first love. This is the 1986 Camaro that got me hooked. Purchased in 1990 with 32,000 miles for $4,200. It had a 2.8/auto when purchased. I converted it to 5.7 with a 700r4. It was still pretty slow IMO.

I always admired my fathers 1987 Z28 Camaro since before I could drive. I purchased it from him for $8,000 after selling the blue 86 to a friend in 1993. It had Iroc rims, foglights and door decals. It also had a wild 5.7 built by Rick Kippley (Kippley Performance) with Dart II sportsman heads, hooker longtubes, true duals all the way back and a 650 edelbrock carb/intake. It had Kipley's secret street cam in it. The thing sounded like a top fuel monster when it ran. I could never get anyone to race me in it because the exhaust was a dead give-away of what it could do.

With the debut of the 4th gen, and college graduation coming up I figured I'd reward my hard work with a brand new 1995 Z28 M6. I custom ordered the car and waited 6 months for it to arrive. I sold the 87 to some guy for $6,500 and never looked back. The highlight of owning it was the insurance. I paid $250/month. I wrecked it after 1 year of ownership and 18,000 miles.
I was going up an onramp at full throttle and hit first instead of 3rd. The back end came around on me and it was over.

After wrecking the black 95 and actually making $3,000 on the insurance settlement I bought this dark red 1995 Z28 A4 in 1996 with 11K on it. I added the rims, ramair, spoiler and a SLP TOTL exhaust. It was awsome. I drove it to Cali and back twice on the Hot Rod Powertour in 1997 and 1998.

In 1998 I needed to put myself in a position to purchase my first property. Doing that required eliminating the car loan so I sold the hopped up 95 and bought this 1988 Iroc from my cousin with cash. It had 55K on it and I paid $7,000. It was super clean right down to the original floor mats and had the 5.7 TPI. I had admired that car for years so I didnt mind owning it. I really missed having a 4th gen car.

In 2002 I sold it to buy a 1994 Mustang GT convertible. I figured I had a few camaros and would give the ferd a shot. It just didnt do "it" for me so I started combing the earth for a nice 4th gen Camaro Z28 6-speed convertible.
I found my current car on Ebay. It was also in Autotrader. The Ebay auction ended without the reserve met so I called the dealer to see what the reserve was. The car had 53K on it and I paid $7500. I sold the Ford to my brother-in-law. He likes Mustangs alot. So there you have it. My love for the Camaro.

Thanks for sharing that. Those are some good stories and I bet you have tons of fond memories of all of them. I personally like 88 IROC the best, but I'm a 3rd gen guy so I'm biased .

Dude, it hurts to see a nice black LT1 up on stands like that. Ouch lol . Very nice man. There definitely is something nice about that green that sets it off from the rest of the pack . But, I'm partial to black myself

That's definitely a nice collection of camaros you have had the privledge of owning. That must have hurt seeing your 95 black z28 up on the stands. I myself am very partial to black 4th gen f-bodies. But I must say, like i have stated before, there's just something about that green that just looks awesome on your current F-Bod. It definitely has a nice look to it. I also must say, i wouldn't mind driving that 87 IROC, that car's pretty bad a$$.

The black 95 was in perfect shape in that picture. I was cleaning the wheels so I had removed them. It was sad to see it get hauled off to the salvage yard, though.

You like that silver 1987 Z28? It was actually the first Camaro I ever drove. My dad taught me how to drive in that car. I eventually ended up buying it from him and thus is became my second Camaro. That thing was a monster. 400+ horsepower. I miss all my old cars dearly.

Funny too, cuz right after i posted i took another look at the pictures, and i was wondering where the damage was on the black Z. That must have hurt though, i would have cried.

But yeah, i do love that silver 87. It's probably my favorite out of all of them. It looks so clean, and it definitely seems like a beast based upon some of those mods you listed. Definitely a sharp car, as are all of them.

YOu know that Black Camaro reminds me a lot of my 95 TA. I think its because it was on jackstand having the ranny pulled in and out mor offened than it was on the ground.

Other than iron heads, the secret cam, true duals, and all the iroc emblems, that setup is pretty much almost the exact same setup my friend has in his 84 bird. He even has iroc rims on it too lol. He has a pretty aggressive cam, not sure what kind it is though (salvaged from another SBC, just put it in last weekend). He's got the edelbrock chrome valve covers and air cleaner also, so i can picture beautifully what it looked like.

That thing looked like it was a beast, if you can, more pictures would be nice . I wont be on the boards until monday, so if you do have some to post, no rush. If not, i guess i can do without

When I was like 6 or 7 I remember being at some store with my folks and seeing a 3rd gen camaro pull into the parking lot. I begged my mom to buy me a hotwheels car like that.. heh. Later down the road I ended up getting one!! and it was real not a hotwheels

Bought my 87 IROC from a guy for $2500. It had a LT1 out of a 93 that he had been trying to swap but I guess he gave up. Talk about a steal.. so I've got the style I love with the newer engine. I love it.
