My uncle had a huge Saint Bernard named Churchill many years ago. It was the most loving animal and wouldn't heart anybody. The only thing he didn't like was poodles. If he got a hold of one, he gave em a good shake.

So one day my uncle drove through town with some kind of station wagon and had the window down on the rear hatch. A poodle was out for a walk and Churchill spyed it and jumped right out of the rear hatch into oncoming traffic. He got hit by a car which ended up with massive front damage while Churchill had some cuts, scrapes and a broken tail "only".

I loved that dog. One time we took it for a walk along a river and some Swiss army troops had some excercises in the woods. All their gear they didn't need was piled up around a big tree. Churchill walked over, had a sniff of the back packs and eventually lifted his leg on them . All the guys could do is watch and hope it wasn't their bag.

A couple of years later, he attacked a small girl walking past the house and he had to be put to sleep. Turns out, the previous owner used to place a bucket of food in the garage and lock the dog up and go on holidays for a week, without anybody looking after him. Who knows what other abuses he had to take.

                I really missed Churchill.
