I never did a proper conclusion to this thread, so for the sake of completion here it goes:

We brought the door back from the body shop and reinstalled the window tracks and glass in it. Then, with the help of my brother and a friend we bolted it to its hinges. This is where we had a problem. Although it looked like the door lined up fine, it was draging on the latch. As a result it was hard to close, and it was impossible to properly adjust the window.

In order to access the hinge bolts that allow for the up-down movement of the rear of the door, we had to remove the front fender. I very carefully removed all the fasteners from the fender and we got it off without damaging it. It was now possible to get the door adjusted properly, and it fit prefect now. The window was a snap to adjust too, now that the door was fitting correctly. I reinstalled the front fender. Thank God for flexable body panels.

The final steps were to reassemble everything else and make new stickers for the door jamb. I posted a seperate thread about the stickers HERE

Here are some pictures of the completed project. The paint is a fair match, nobody will notice but me, because I know it was replaced.
