I need good front component speakers under $200, whats good out there ?
Is the the stock tweeter location a good one? Would I have to run an am for these components? Anyone with sound system in thier fbods, I need an idea of what and where and how to install.
Anyone heard of Audiobahn? I have their front speakers and they seems good but not great at loud volumes. Their prices seem reasonable.
I have currently a sony cd deck not the greatest sound, I am getting my hands on an Alpine deck hope it will help the sound, Also it has the sperate control from subs, thats in the near future.
    Thanks in advance!

these are the components that fit your car

the 6.5" components shoud be the right size. the clarions on sale are not bad at all for the price. JBL, kenwood, alpine all good brands. Depends on preference really. I have infinity in my doors and blaupunkt components in the back, custom install with tweeters in the ceiling. you said 200 was your limit, there are quite a few options on there.

hope it helps. I've always had good luck with crutchfield, even returning speakers that i blew.

you would not need an amp, you can run a 4 channel, like mine for all your speakers if you want, but is not necessary.

Again, hope it helps, any more questions just ask.

For 200 your doing ok and if your interested in what brand abvice is hard to give cause its all in what you like. Go to any of the audio stores that are in you area and listen to ALOT of diffrent choices. When you decide what YOU like then go on EBAY you cant beat there prices for car audio. Make sure they are new and not remanufactured. As far as an apm goes that has alot to do with the speakers and more to do with the head unit that you have. If its the factory then you need a nicer amp with a better crossover because you will be whats called a "high level imput". After market head units oupen up you options. As for the stock location for the tweater that is ok but not ideal. They should be down in the kick panels pointing at the oposite sides of the car (driver side pointing at pasenger and vice versa) because the highs from the tweaters travel faster then the mid and low feqs. i know thats alot of info and theres more where that came from its a hobbey of mine

i would get a set of audiobahn comps ABC-something

and a nice cheap amp..should be right around 200$ with the amp

the set im talking about has a 1" tweet 4" tweet and 6.5" mid bass also has a cross over

i dont want to hear about audiobahn being gay or whatever i have seen these run and they work and they take a beating a friend of mine runs 2 mtx 9500 15"s with 3 sets of those comp sets up front. they are the best bang for the buck esp if u get an amp to power them

Well I am wating on my Alpine to arrive, i want to see how it will sound with my current speakers. I had inifinity in the sail panels i took them out last night they sounded really bad in that location. I have Audiobahn in the front , and they sound really good under moderate volume, with stock tweeters.
I did a dumb thing though, I bought the Clarion components off Ebay model srs1625, I was testing them at home and i burned one of the tweeters out , it started to smoke .. . Can I buy a seperate set of tweeters different brand and hooked them up to the Clarion mids?

does the component set of speakers have its own cross over, if yes you should be able to buy another set of tweeters. or buy the same ones again and do the swap. bad speakers into good box and return.

Hey thats a thought. No the tweeters have a inline 2-way crossover network (6 dB/octave). Can you elaborate on that?
Here's the link to the speakers :

The infinity's are really good speakers. I have the Kappa series components in the doors and 1/4's and the Kappa series coaxial with just the bass playing in the sail panels.

i have always liked Infinity, Boston Acoustics, and MB Quart.....all of those are top-notch speakers

and i've never actually heard the Focals in action, but i've heard nothing but good things from others about them
