Hey everyone,
If you havent read any of my previous posts, my 91 RS is having a hard time passing then NOx part of the New Jersey emissions test. I am pretty sure it has to do with the EGR system on the car. However, I wasnt getting a SES light.
Well, I replaced all of the vacum lines in the car, cleaned out the EGR passages in the intake manifold & intalled a new EGR valve yesterday. Last night while I was driving down the highway... I GOT A SES LIGHT!! I ran the code and it came back Code 32(EGR) (At least I am making progress. haha)
This is where I am at now. Someone on another board mentioned that the EGR system needs alittle exhaust back pressure to function properly. I have headers, a high-flow cat, and a cat-back system. Not much backpressure. Is it possible that this is the root of my problems? Does anyone aggree that I need more back pressure? How can I increase back pressure temporarily? The guy on the other board said that I can increase the size of my vacum port on the EGR valve to give the EGR more vacum, and that may solve my problem. Whata think?
Thanks in Advance,
Mark B
