It was dark out and I was just laying there looking at the stars, when I saw what looked like a star moving around. I thought my eyes were just going wonky so I blinked a few times and was still seeing it. Now I was interested....I watched it go one direction, then turn sharply then turn again...and this went on for like 2-3 minutes, then it was gone. Now, I am not one to say that I believe in UFO's, in fact I don't. But I have no explanation for what I was seeing that night.
Something I never talked about is something similar. About 2 years ago, I was laying in my driveway on a nice clear night. Out here in the sticks, you don't get the glow of city lights and the starfield looks very impressive. Well, i'm laying there for perhaps half and hour and probably saw 5 or so planes during the time, all following the normal flight paths. The last one was when things got what I would consider unexplainable. I see a Jumbo jet heading on a Northbound trajectory directly overhead at considerable altitude. I can still see the flashing beacons. As I follow it for about another 10 seconds I see what I thought was a stationary star perform a manouver like the shape of a fishook and Rapidly accelerate while turning to come up behind the jet at about his 7 o'clock position. When I say rapidly, I mean it. Taken into account that a jumbo jet cruises at over 500 mph, this other object went from what appeared to be stationary to cover 7 times the distance the jet did in each second. It followed the jet for about 7-10 seconds, then veered off and quickly blended back into the starfield. I've seen enough high speed aircraft and supersonic manouvers to know what our fighter jets can do. The manouvers I saw would not have allowed a human occupant to survive. So, one of two things. Either the object is not our technology or it was a pilotless aircraft that is our technology. Not far from here is an active bombing range. I hear ordinance going off all the time, sometimes I get to see the hot fighters go whizzing by. In the time after 9/11, it wouldn't suprise me at all if the military were testing new technology and night time is the best to do it to avoid mass detection. The part that was really odd was that any of aur stuff to pull alot of speed is going to make noise. In this case, there was . Zip. Nada. What I saw would have have been way faster than the speed of sound. I say that is the wave of the future. Unmanned planes far faster than the Predator that keep our guys out of harm's way. Carring an occupant is one thing that makes the current aircraft the size that they are. Without the need of an occupant, they can be made considerably smaller, lighter and faster. They could pull G's that would tear apart a human occupant.

Very interesting Joe.. I'm a firm believer in the "unexplained" things in our world.. Extra terrestrial life being one of them... And I also believe ... well.. I think we all know that our government is testing new things every day that we don't, and probably never will know about.

Joe - if we catch you making an aluminum foil helmet or anything, we'll have to move you to a sanitorium.

It's going to be sitting until this weekend, I've been burning up the highways traveling for my job. I mangaged to get it running, I swapped an injector off the T/A just to see if it works and she does run. It still has 4 NFG tires, but that is OK.... I have a few sets of wheels and tires I can swap on there, just don't have enough hours in the day to do it all. I think this time around, I'm going to keep her. I'm going to sell off something else and give some of that money to Carol. Yeah, we're on a first name basis now. The real beauty of this project is that I have most every part needed to put it back into great shape. Most of the effort will be cleaning the body/paint. I still don't know how well some of those key marks will turn out, hopefully she won't need any paint..... if it does, it's just going to have to wait.
