I have a little problem. My 95 Trans Am I just bought has a crack in the drivers side front fender and another crack in the drivers side door. I really dont want to take it to a body shop. I use to have a Fiero Gt, and when a Suburban backed into my door I got this stuff from 3M. It was a epoxy that bonded the crack back together. All i did was sand off the excess and paint. Done. Problem, I dont remember what the stuff was called, and have no Idea if it will work on these types of panels. Any help would be great.

I'm having a body shop redo my drivers door right now. The guy uses a special filler that is just for these specific panels. It is a polyester resin with fibers in it that applys from a big caulk gun looking tool. After making the repair you'll need to re-apply a spray gel-coat to the areas that you sanded below the primer. I'm not sure of the exact names of the products, but I'm sure any reputable body shop supply place could guide you in the correct direction.Originally posted by imwlw83I have a little problem. I'm paying about $500 to have my entire door replaced. That includes fixing the defects in the new (salvage)door, applying a new gelcoat, priming and color matching it to the car inside and out with a premium european two-part paint in base coat/clear coat. When it is done, it will be almost impossible to tell I completely replaced the entire door.
The fenders are a different material and I'm not sure about the repair process. I have seen new fenders sell for $50.00 though, So I would hesitate to spend any money repairing an old one.Tracy

Thanks for your advice. I have been looking for a fender and they are about 250. Where did you see the one for 50, that would be a good place to start. I might just have to suck it up and have the door done by a pro.95 Trans Am, K&N CAI, LT4 knock module, Flowmaster exhuast, Grant GT steering wheel, Sony head unit w/sub, Autometer Gauges

check out THESE guys. I'm not sure about the quality, but the price is right! How bad can it be?Originally posted by imwlw83Thanks for your advice. Judging by their feedback I'd guess that they need a better shipping setup, but I dont see a single complaint about poor quality.
