  • 3.23 to 3.73's ?

Is it a worthy mod to replace my 3.23 gears with 3.73's? I know most replace their 2.73's. What can I expect? I would also get the PCM programmed and a TransGo shift kit done at the same time.

I replaced mine and have had them for about 20K miles. The results are good..... each gear is over a little quicker, traction is a little more dicey, the downside is cruising rpm is higher. I can say that 3rd gear is the real jewel now. It used to be with 3.23s, first and second gear were good but when it hit third, acceleration weakened. That is where stick cars had the advantage. Not anymore, Third is now like the magical 3rd gear on a stick that keeps pulling strongly. If you don't do alot of high speed highway cruising, you'll be happy. If you are an interstate stalker, you'll wish you had a 5th gear. Yes, you'll have to get the PCM flashed with a program to correct the speedo.

is there any other way to flash your computer other than hypertech?
can a dealership do the programming for just the speedo

I would buy LT1-edit instead of a hypertech. The cable is about $90 and software is $200.

A hypertech PP will cost about the same and not be as usefull.
