Anyone else think DJ Taso's sig is distasteful and disrespectful...or is it just me??

I think we can all deduct what is meant by this derogatory connotation. As a verteran and a very patriotic person, I am personally offended by this. It is distasteful and disrespectful to our country and should be removed.

If thats what he means by it, then yes, it should be removed.

It's the soldier, not the reporter who has given us
      Freedom of the Press.

It's the soldier, not the poet, who has given us
      Freedom of Speech.

It's the soldier, not the campus organizer, who has given us the
      Freedom to Demonstrate.

It's the soldier, not the lawyer, who has given us the
      Right to a Fair Trial.

It's the soldier who salutes the flag, serves under the flag and
whose coffin is draped by the flag,
Who gives the protestor the right to burn the flag.

And it is the soldier that gives Taso the right to make his statement of disrespect.

      Pretty sad.

          It's the Illinois state flag.

The assumption is that he is saying he will not salute the American flag because the American majority voted to re-elect Bush.

Illinois is a "blue" state, so he WILL salute that flag.

Hit the nail on the head. It IS very sad when someone can justify making a conscience decision to outwardly disrespect the country that provides them their very freedom.

Then all of you with the confederate flag on the back of your pick up truck please remove it. hehe

Maybe it's not the Il. flag but the statement.

Taso is entitled to his own personal opinion, it's his fundamental right as an American. I think that pic is exactly that, his opinion. I dont think his intent was to offend anyone, especially FAST T/A, or anyone else on this board for that matter. Furthermore, he isn't violating any of the forum rules !

Maybe it's just because I am getting older.. but I don't remember any election that divided this country as bad as this one. On a lighter note it was good to see both political parties put aside thier views and celebrated the clinton memorial library opening, George W Bush had a very good speach honoring clinton which reminded me of his original re-election promise "to restore honor and dignity" Clinton congradulated Bush on his re-election. John Kerry was there, the news said it was a day of unity.

United we stand, divided we fall, not everyone is perfect.. but we have survived this far.

It was a day of pretense and dishonesty. The Clinton library is a joke. He can set up all kinds of exhibits to try to create a legacy that shows him in a positive light, but he is taking credit for a lot of things that he didn't really support up front like the Balanced Budget. That was largely achieved by a Republican house and Senate. And don't forget about him selling the Lincoln bedroom and trying to take the furniture when he moved out. He also pardoned those 300 or so criminals in his last days. Basically, he had no regard or reverance for the office of President of the US, and he disgraced it by getting his DNA all over Monica's dress when he should have been doing his job. Oh yeah - he was, and still is, a patholocical liar. Now it happens to be a tradition to let bygones be bygones when it comes to opening of the Presidential Libraries, but don't make it out to be something it isn't - it's just a big PR stunt. And the only reason the Dems are acting cuddly is because they got their butts handed to them and the Republicans are treating them much better than they themselves would have been treated had the elections taken a different turn. Has anybody nticed Hillary's sudden interest in religion?
