  • Ok I need a bit of car help

Not realy sure at all what the problem might be. i posted it a while back. the car like sputters pretty hardcore, almost feels like the engine is jumping around. but the thing that makes me confused is that it did it the day i posted about it and the day after and then it just randomly stoped and tonight it started doing it again. so far the ideas i got are

    Injectors
    Fuel Filter
    Plugs
    Plug wires

    Possible opti ??

not realy sure, dad isnt being too helpful either ( odds are he knows just wont tell me )

    Edit:

Seems like if its colder outside and i just start it up and go it doesnt have this problem. but if i leave it to warm up it will. and on warmer days it wont do it. . . sort of hit and miss thats whats throwing me off.

    P.S. i hate cars

Can you post a little more information. How many miles? Has it ever had a tune up? Your describing exactly what my car did and I replaced plugs, wires, coil, coil wire, and 02's, I'm in the process of opti cause of them did the trick.

These are supposed to be 100k for plugs and wires but they don't always last that long. I'd just do a plug and wire change to start with because they are almost 10 years old now. A scanner would be very useful also. Keep us posted how the plug and wires are and if it continues doing this.

That sounds similar to what mine did a while back. Does it get real sluggish and unresponsive sometimes when you excelerate? Mine ended up being the sparkplugs. I had mine diagnosed at the chevy dealer for $79. Went ahead and had it fixed there and they put the $79 towards the repair costs (about $400 to replace plugs, wires, and all the regular tune-up stuff).

Did either of the "sputter" events happen while it was raining or extremely humid? Water and the Opti don't get a long very well, and high humidity/condensation can exacerbate wire, coil and IC Module problems.
