If you grind/drill out the 3 rivets holding the glass to the bracket, the glass lifts right out. You can then replace the bracket with one that has a good pin in it and then reinstall the glass using some bolts with lock nuts..

I have a spare bracket with pin, but the pin is a tad loose. It could use a tac-weld to hold it as insurance it never lets go.

They sell windows on e-bay for $20 including the base-bracket riveted to the glass. I'm not sure how they remove them from the door in 1 piece like that. I think they might use a torch to cut the 2 arms of the window regulator?

They also sell window guide sets including the base bracket for $35.00. The spare I have has a slightly loose pin, so I'd recommend getting a set you know is 100% good.

hi trace z ithink i can get a complet window from a wecked car here in the uk.do you still have to drill the rivets out to change the window or can you change it as one unit ie glass and the bit that broke (i think item 3 in your photo) as one

I think they cut or otherwise damage the window regulator arms to remove the glass with the base track still attached. I'm not sure if there is any way to reinstall it that way.

I think you'll need to drill out the rivets and get some bolts and locknuts to put it back together.

I used a dremel with a cutting disc on it to cut off the rivet stems, then I used an engraving bit to make a pilot hole and then I used a drill bit in a cordless drill to drill in the pilot hole and remove the rivet. It was not too difficult, more a PITA than anything else.

Clever idea. Do you think it will hold over the years? Did he use any lock-tite?
