I want to get a race prepped 383 LT4 but i just don't have all the funds to get it done so would i be happy with refreshing my motor and getting aggressive cam, roller lifters, roller rockers, heads and intake, timing gears. and just if i want more get my block clearenced for a 383 or will all the stuff i am getting for my 355 not work well with a 383?
    Comp Cams 306
Comp Cams Pro Mag Full Rollers 1.6
    Comp Lifters and pushrods
    AFR LT4 Street/strip heads

I already have my suspension done and i will have a race trans and 3200 stall converter at this time

Build it the way you want the first time man.....you wont be happy and always saying "yea, im gonna put a stroker in it eventually". It doesnt cost all that much to clearance the block. The machine shop should only get a couple hundred at MOST to do that. The balancing is the more expensive part, but really, if your gonna go through a rebuild to make a fresh 355, then spend a few extra bucks and stroke it if thats what you want. I bet it doesnt cost you more than 500-1000 more than if you built the same motor as a 355...
