Hello,
I havent been around here for about 2 years and I think my username expired, but I knew I would be able to get some good advice here so I made a new one
Here is the problem:
I noticed that for the first time my 97 firebird formula was leaking brake fluid from where the brake cylinder bolts onto the power booster (think thats what it is called). There is just a metal on metal seal; where the master cylinder is connected with two bolts to the black power booster thing. The brake fluid slowly leaks from between these two parts; it just seaps out slowly until the resevor is completely empty (about 5 hours).
I took the brake cylinder off and cleaned al the gunk off/out of it and cleaned the area it bolts onto. There is also a push rod type thing and rubber piece; I cleaned these as well. Everything looked good so I put it all back together with some liquid gasket (all I had handy) to see if it would leak more. It did as soon as I put brake fluid in it began to seap out. I dont know what to do now...
Thanks in advance for any advice,
Colby
