Everything I read on them says they break very easely, not well made to stand up to our abuse, even the Mustang guys break them!!!!!!!

At low speeds and E.T.s probably will hold up very well,I was thinking more of 11.00s E.T. and lower guys.

          Some opinions from users!!

The Lakewoods may work fine on a Mustang, because the rear suspension is different. On a "torque arm" style suspension, as used in the 3rd and 4th Gen F-Bodys, adding the Lakewood bars will put the rear suspension in "bind". It isn't going to help traction, and under high loads, something has to "give". It's usually the Lakewood bar that tears itself apart.

There are 3rd and 4th Gens running in the 8's with "stock style" torque arm suspensions, and NO Lakewood bars. The only thing I have seen anyone use on a 4th Gen, other than the standard parts available from outfits like BMR or Spohn are the Pete's Z bars. I think Madman likes them, and sells them on his website.

i don't have the stand alone tration bars that are welded to the axle i just have factory style LCA, lakewood calls them traction bars. Sorry for not understanding

The best thing to do is get a set of tubular LCA's and a set of the LCA relocation brackets. The bracket really help plant the rear end, lifting the body slightly and preventing the "squat" that can develop without them.

Here's the Spohn tubular LCA's and relo brackets on a 4th Gen that routinely pulled 1.3x 60-ft times:
