  • NFB: I'm in Illinois now

Well, once again I have changed locations from Pittsburg, Kansas to Macomb, Illinois. I've been here for about one and a half months, but just got my internet hooked up. I noticed you live in Chicago DJ Taso. I went up there a few weeks ago to party for my birthday. I'm planning on going back there after the holidays to do some more partying. Drop me a line and let me know where you dj at and I'll come check it out. So far I've gotten a good impression of Illinois....it's definately a lot better than any place around where I was at in Kansas. I'm just dreading this cold weather.

Actually, I live/work about two blocks away from the college. Lots of beautiful women in the area. I guess that's the perks of working around nothing but colleges. I don't have any set plans on going up to the Chicago area yet, but once I know something I'll let ya know.

          Hey,
I live in cicero, borders the western part of chicago. If you ever have plans on coming up towards the city, make a post, we can all meet up or something. When the weather gets warmer, chicago is always an awesome city to cruise the rides through. I go to western every so often to visit some friends, definitely always a nice scenic view when your by a college .

Chicago has some of the most brutalist winters, but Spring is worth the stay. It's a great city and I can't picture my self living anywhere else.

As for the deejaying, I used to spin downtown at http://www.sound-bar.com/ but now I have a residency at the Mission in Elgin. It's a little far, but they made me the head deejay so I took it. Let me know when you're going to be in the area if you decide to come out there.

I also got a website where you can checkout my music. Here's a free sample, http://www.djtaso.com/cd/Euratica5_s...djtaso.com.zip

That's fairly close to Midway Airport right? Chicago really is a great place to cruise...except you have to know where to go, because I noticed a lot of roads around there are poorly maintained. I also noticed people there drive really fast. I lived in Houston for two and a half years and thought they drove fast...boy was I mistaken.

DJ, just wondering...do you ever spin trance? I like the sample you posted. Everything flows really well. I'm good friends with a dj in Houston and he works like 3 different clubs there on a regular basis. He spins mosly trance though.

DJ Taso~You're the head dj at mission? I had no idea...i prolly saw you then. I went there not that long ago with a couple girls i know.

Aaron4TAMU~Midway airport is about a 15 minute drive from my house, so yeah, i'm fairly close. Get used to the driving fast, getting horribly cut off during lane changes, no signals, and did i mention getting cut off. Go drive downtown sometime and knock yourself out, watch out for those taxi cab drivers, their the worst . The burbs are totally different than the city though, so its not all that bad. The traffic jams are horrible though, especially this time of year. If i were to take the highway to work, i might as well start leaving at 3 a.m.

Like DJ Taso said, we have a brutal winter, but the spring/summer are well worth it. I too couldn't imagine myself living anywhere else. Lots of things to see and do. I suggest that when you can get a day to yourself sometime, to try and check out a couple things around the city. I for one am going to the auto show at the McCormick place pretty soon. It always comes around chicago usually in early february !

I spin everything, but out here you can't just stick to one style. You're spinning in front of 2,000 people in a crammed club and not everyone is into Trance or one particular style. You change it up. You play a little club house, hip hop, house, etc depending on the crowd. As a deejay you have to feel the crowd. You have to feel what they want.

Deejaying is all about flow and transition.

Here's another one that did very well for me, http://djtaso.com/cd/Euratica4_sampl...djtaso.com.zip

Yep...unfortunately it's out of commission at the moment due to a bent axle shaft (second one!). My job has me staying at the Campus Pointe Apartments on Linden Ln. It's right behind Casey's Country Store. Man, I never knew so many people on this forum lived in Illinois.
