Ok the ABS inop light (crap not before christmas) came on tonight first time ever, When I got home I turned the car off and back on and it went off, any ideas? ..

this wont help, but i have the same problem, only mine doesnt go away. the guy i bought it from said he was driving in the snow(idiot) and he locked up the tires and skidded for a lil bit. ever since then its been on, so now thers 2 ppl that have this question -
see if you have a burned out bulb in your third tail light. It will make the light come on if it is burned out.Tracy

Was it raining? My Formula would ocasionally set the "ABS INOP" light in the rain. My Silverado does something similar quite often.... the "TRACTION OFF" light comes on in rain and snow, just when you need the TCS. Probably the moisture affecting one of the connectors for the sensors?????Fred

My ABS inop light also comes on in my 93TA. when my cars at idle the volts meter drops below 13 and into the yellow and the abs light comes up.99 Z28 M6, SS hood, borla muffler

We had cool and dry nights here no rain. I checked the bulbs like Trace said in the back they're good. I've been runing the heat on blower setting 3 during when it came on. I drove it tonight from work didn't come on.Originally posted by Injuneer
Also I got to test the abs tonight, almost hit a NYPD squad car. The light turned yellow I was coming down the hill in aresidential area, I am thinking I am going to make it, am passed the light and they come out of nowhere just with their lights flashing no sirens. I hit the brakes no skidding , stopped right infront of their front bumper, we looked at each other and they took of.

loose or bad sensor
