    Well my service engine soon light came on, and pulled the code P1441, it said something about emissions. does any one know what code is for? thanks.
    1987 Monte Carlo SS, Lightning rod equipped. edelbrock intake/carb, heddman headers, moog suspension, dual snorkle air cleaner, no comp/emissions. Body off restoration.

      hey thanks, It has something to do with the purge flow, I was told it was stickin before.

        P1441 = Evaporative Emissions (EVAP) system flow during non-purge

        There is a flow detector switch in the line from the canister in the back fender to the purge solenoid on the passenger side of the intake manifold. In theory, this code indicates the purge solenoid is stuck open and the flow detector is seeing flow when the solenoid is supposed to be closed.

        Pull the hoses of the detector valve and off the solenoid. Look for carbon particles in the lines. If you find carbon in the lines, there is a good chance the flow detector or the purge solenoid is plugged with carbon and not working correctly.
