  • I need help

Sorry if this a "newbie" question but i just dont know. Im looking to get a new exhaust to replace my stock one. I drive an 89 RS with a 305 TBI. I dont really know a lot about cars just yet and i really want to get into to and i think this would be a first project. So what would i look for? What would be the best application for me? I was thinking flowmaster becuase my friend has a 94 CAM with flowmaster exhaust and it sounds great. Maybe you guys could go to this site and show me what i need. Thanks a heck of a lot in advance. http://www.jegs.com/cgi-bin/ncommerc...07&prmenbr=361 This is what i think would be nice. If somethinks other wise please give some advice

What kind of sound are you looking for? Do you want something that just has a low rumble, something that's LOUD, etc.... and how much $$$ are you looking to spend. Always be confident in what you want out of your ride before you go out and buy the parts, that way there are less surprises

Consider where you live. There are some states that are considering laws that would set noise limits on exhaust. I've been told Conneticut is one of them. No offense, but i think people who put louder exhaust on their cars are either starved for attention or maybe even compensating for something...

I had a flowmaster and I didn't like it, but I don't like LOUD. I've got a Hooker catback and even with headers and offroad y-pipe it sounds great. Good rumble at idle and still pleasing at partial throttle, but it roars at wot. SLP stuff also sounds pretty good. Just my thoughts.

Yep, I would get the Hooker cat-back. I presonally have a Flowmaster exhaust, and it's OK, but it sounds like a truck . The Hooker cat-back is supposedly a little quiet up until about 3K RPMs and then it screams! Jegs part number 520-16820 is the correct one for your car. It should bolt right up to the stock parts.
