  • Springs, shocks and wheels 101

Here are some specs for those wishing to swap springs, shocks, or wheels. Obviously there is more data to be collected, but at least this is a start. The wheel weights are rounded up to the next whole number, ditto for a few weight reduction items listed at the bottom. Hope this helps............

I suppose it's possible. Many manufacturers have products that are similar. I can tell you that I've ridden in a few that rode like they must have used a brick as a spring, so I'm not going to doubt it.

This is such a good thread that I made a shortcut on my desktop. I'm still trying to decide on springs and shocks. I'm pretty sure I will get the BMR springs. I just can't decide on whether to get Hal or Koni shocks. There used to be a company that made a cockpit adjustable shock with a 3 position switch for the Mustang but I can't find them for the F-body. That would be nice.

For what its worth I have heard that the BMRs are much stiffer than advertised. I have a local guy here who is into road racing and he recommended the Koni SAs - they can actually be used to lower the car without aftermarket springs. You can use the lower perch mount on the front and remove the isolator on the back to get ~ 1" drop. He recommended the Hotchkis springs if you go that route.
