  • vehicle weight and smog check?

I got nailed with the random "Test only" inspection smogs. For those who don't know CA's process, they use a dyno to simulate actual driving conditions for the smog. Their floor dyno had some kind of hydraulic "metal rod" that was able to lift the whole rear end of the car. Anyways, they list the vehicle weight as 3750 lbs....and the hydraulic metal rod is the only thing I can see possibly measuring weight but on 1 axle . Does anyone know how this process works, and how accurate it is? 3750 seems kind of high without the driver. Thanks in advance.
