  • What mph can I max out at the 1/4?

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The car is a 95z-28, I have TH400 from TCI, with a 3500 stall, Hoosier QTP 27x10.5, 4:10 rear gears, and I plan on shifting around 6400rpm and turning the 200 shot of nitrous off at 6200. It is around 3600lb race weight.
Any ideas guys? Is there some type of formula?

    Yes.

Greenlight + heavy foot + 1320 feet = ET and trap speed

Was the RWHP measured through the TH400? Assuming it was (~21% drivetrain loss) and adding another 50rwHP for the extra nitrous, I'd say around 10.2@134 mph. That would be based on the 3,600# race weight, and a flywheel of about 712HP

The problem is that with 4.10's, a 27" tire assumed to grow 4%, and a 10% slip on the converter (non-locking, I assume) you are going to hit 6,400rpm at 116mph. You need different gears and taller tires.

what if I switched my gears to a 3:73, what mph would I max out then?

ALWAYS use wheel HP to estimate ET and MPH with mathematical formulas designed to estimate. That is the power that is actually accelerating your vehicle.
