  • Problems after Headers Install, Need help.

Just installed Pacesetter Long tubes and Offroad Y-Pipe, removed the cat. Had the computer done by Madz28. The car idles fine and revs fine in nuetral, but when in gear if I give it gas it falls and its face, bucking and sputtering. Any help would be appreciated.

Is the SES light on??? A guess would be the air/fuel is out of whack. Another would be to check the plug wires. Make sure they are all fastened properly and not getting burned up by the new headers.

plug wires, as mentioned, maybe o2s? Just give things a thorough lookthrough. It's weird, if a plug wire is resting on an open header, it'll idle decently, maybe not noticble, but once you get on it, it will totally miss. Don't run it too long if this is the case, you'll melt a plug! Just had one of my $5 zex plugs get fried because a wire hit the HOT side of the turbo, resting on it. Fried through the wire, car did what yours is doing. Replaced wires, same problem. Pulled plugs, FRIED. Literally melted. Good luck man! Let me know what you find.

A few words on the delete of the cats.... The EGR in the dual cat cars appears to need a certain amount of backpressure for proper EGR flow. Unless you've have the EGR disabled in the program, you'll likely throw a code.

So I put in the right o2 sensor. It runs better, but not like it should.
            Joe,
How do I disable the egr?
            Thanks guys.

You don't. A competant programmer like MadZ28 or LT-1 edit is required to disable the computer function.
