              My wife is Thai and she's in Bangkok right now visiting family. She had talked about going to Phuket not long before the wave hit. Fortunately, for me, she called at 3am on the 26th to let me know she was ok before I even found out about it. Luckily she hadn't left Bangkok.

              I can't even imagine what's going throught the minds of many families out there right now.

                    It's an absolute horror scene with all these dead bodies.

                    Yesterday we found out that my uncle and his wife were ok. They were travelling through Thailand when it happened.

                    On the other hand a good friend of mine lives in Phuket when he's not working and so far we haven't heard if he's ok or not.

                    On the news they say that some people lost all their relatives in Indonesia. The family wiped out and children were hit the hardest.

                        Those videos are good examples of how powerful this planet is at times My heart goes out to all of the people lost and their families.

                        The scary thing too is that as bad as this was, it could be so much worse. I've seen it on the discovery channel so many times, what a possible tsunami could be like with an earthquake that would hit 11.0 on the scale. I could never imagine an underwater mountain of water traveling 800mph and a couple hundred feet high, and then when it actually hits, slowing down to 80 mph or so and being 75 feet high

                        The quake that caused this one was a 9.0, and was caused by the Eurasian plate and the australian plate rubbing together. I could never imagine anything like that, i hope people from the world will contribute to help out all those countries affected.
