Or maybe it's old info. I just got the new Car & Driver in and they have a feature about this beast. First Car & Driver estimates the price to be between $60,000-65,000 with a 0-60 time being 3.8 and the quarter mile in 11.7. The new Viper SRT-10 Coupe goes a 3.9 and does the quarter in 12.1. At $86,000, I think I'll save my 20 grand and go with the better looking and faster Z06.
Another interesting thing- At low revs, all the exhaust goes through a single well-muffled tailpipe in each muffler. When you stomp on the throttle and exceed 3500 rpm, however, vacuum powered bypasses open up a second, virtually straight-through tailpipe in each muffler. That sound will be worth the wait. (Car and Driver)
Now that is some awesome engineering!

This was a missed golden oppurtunity by GM. Oh well, not their first.

Somewhat. The changes from the 3rd to 4th Gen f-body weren't near as great as the changes from the C5 to the C6. I wouldn't go so far as to say it was enormous. I would however, say that the changes made to the C5 to C6 (especially Z06) are enormous.
