I like the Midwest TC better then Vig. Dennis is a honest guy who stands fully behind his product.

    Here's kind of a small build-up for a 12 second car:
*Midwest 3200 stall 2.0 or 2.5 stater MIDWEST TC
*Comp Cams 230 510/530 112 lsa Cam Specs
    *Port heads and intake
    *New opti
    *NGK TR55 plugs
    *MSD 8.5mm wires
    *3.73 gears
*subframe connectors (to support the car and better traction)
    96 T/A - Heavily Modded
87 Caprice DGCM Boxie - Stock

i have a new opti with like 1000 miles on it with w/p
MSD wires 8.5 and Blaster coil
      NGK iriduim plugs
Strang Pro-Street 3.73 gears with 255/55R16 BFG Drag Radials

i need - my intake and heads Port matched & Polished (price)
LT1 heads and intake flow enough? How does painting the LT1 intake red rate?
What king of cam selection do i have to wake her up alot, springs i will need, pushrods, Roller Rockers. Tunning?
I was looking at the Comp Cams CC306 but i have heard alot of flack about how out dated and unimpressive it is.
Will i need to upgrade timing gear and chain?

Have you even talked to Combination yet? If not, that would be the first thing to do. Sam and Dave are extremely knowledgeable and good people. They know f-bodies.

Vigilantes are an incredible TC for street strip applications. They will stand behind some very serious HP.

Polishing is mostly important on the exhaust ports of the cylinder head. That is to help minimize exhaust deposits and thus minimize airway obstruction. Polishing can be done on the intake runners on the cylinder head but won't offer much in the way of picking up any substantial flow or velocity. Maybe 10 cfm tops on a Stage III LT1 casting with re-shaped ports and bowls. That is maybe 8 HP. Just depends on wheter or not you want to spend the loot.
