  • NFB - gonna get inked...

Alright, a little off the topic today... My little bro is getting another tattoo, and I definately want to get one. Nothing big, just a small one, mabey 2-3 inches wide. Nothing crazy either, so I was kinda figuring on getting the chicken emblem like the one on my formulas front bumper. My little bro just got engaged, and she will probably cut him off from doing things like this sooner or later. So, now is the time.

Not my choice of a good decision. I can not figure out why someone would want to scar their body with a tattoo. But it's your choice, thats what makes this Counrty great - freedom to choose. Best of luck.

i think a Tattoo is a great idea, i have several myself. And so does my wife. We even went and got matching ones that i drew myself. I only have one rule with tattoo's. If you are going to have the ink for life, it should mean something. If you want the firechicken put on you and it has real meaning , that is what you should get. Dont go in the tatto parlor half drunk and pick something off the wall, that you will regret in the future. Side note, you dont want to drink before you go, alcohol thins out the blood and makes you bleed like a stuck pig, and some places wont give you one if it smells like you have been drinking. Good luck, post a pic of the new ink, i would love to see it

Its your decision, if you want one get it. I have four tattoos on my arms. I never regret getting them, I plan on getting more someday. I would steer away from getting a tattoo below your elbow though. Remember, its on you forever. Good luck with your decision.

Make sure you get the name of your girlfriend tattoo'ed on you. That way, it will be a real awkward conversation explaining it to your next girlfriend... muhahahaha...

It's going to be on my leg or back/shoulder. Something small. I am not going drunk, because that might further impair my judgement on what to get. I was going to get my family crest, but that would be upwards of $500, and pretty big. If I don't find something I really want, then I am not going to get one.

tattoo's dont "scar" you body. they leave a permanant "drawing" under the second layer of skin in non toxic, non dispersing ink. a fresh tatoo healing is no worse than a minor abrasion from something...

what can scar is the removal of the tattoo.

the main thing about a tattoo is dont get one unless you are prepared to take to the grave what you get put on you. never get something that you may end up changing your mind about in the future or that may cause you regrets from memory.

i have three. a portrait of my first wolfdog, Nikona.... which was a major inspiration in my life, one of a downsized version of her paw print over my heart, and one which is a dream catcher, with a ying yan inside....and wolf tracks instead of dots in the ying yang....and two trailing indian feathers off the back... this is of my own design. it symbolizes a dream of the eternal life and protection of the wolf, and my comanche hertiage from my great great grandfather........

be picky on what you get...very very picky. think it over carefully. even draw a draft version on yourself or have someone do it for you with water soluable markers...

I have one. Great advice has been given, get one that means something. I got my birth sign on one calf and Im gona get my family crest on the other. Alway put it somwhere where there will be very little skin sag when you are older, and where you can hide it if you get a corporate job.

The reference to "scar" was figurative to imply my opinion of unsightliness.

Thankfully you have thought through your decision and won't need to worry about getting scarred with removal as Ken stated.

The only policy I follow when getting tattoos is to make sure it hold some pretty deep meaning in your heart. I can't stand seeing people with those dang tribal bands around their arms, or something completely unthoughtful along those lines.
