Uptown Minneapolis, last Friday night... they were setting up for an art fair that would run over the weekend, so some streets were closed, and there was no place to parallel park anywhere... Hennepin Avenue, which is normally 2 lanes in each direction, was down to 1 lane in each direction due to the art fair materials that were in the right hand lanes and off the shoulder.
So, I am turning right onto Hennepin, traffic is obviously at a crawl due to the absence of lanes... when some idiot in a V6 Mustang comes flying up in the center lane, and cuts right in front of me to turn right. Well, I was too dumbfounded by his move to really get mad. Then I notice... he is actualyl revving his engine at me. So... seeing no harm, I give some throttle and drown him out. Apparently, this guy was in such self worhsip of himself and his own johnson... that he then began to do a BURNOUT RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME. I was amazed, and no, I did not follow suit and put him to shame, although I certianly could have.
The way I look at it is this:
Anybody walking down the streets who saw that fits in to two categories -- those who don't like cars, and those who do. Those who don't like cars just thought that guy was your typical butt-head with a fast car, and likely full of himself. Those who do like cars knew he was in a V6 Mustang, and he was goofing on a WS6 Trans Am -- to these people he looked like a retard. Either way he impressed no one.
