im havin problems with my headlights coming up. when i first turn my headlights on, they dont come up the first time, i have to turn them off, then return them back on a second time to get them to go up. ANY solutions please.
There is a "black box" located under your air filter box. Loosen the clamps and remove your air cleaner assembly and you'll find a headlight relay box plastic rivited to the air induction tube that normally helps pull air from behind the headlights and directs it into the air filter. This relay box is responsible for sending current to the actuators (motors). Pull the harness connections and spray electrical contact cleaner on the contacts. Reseat the connectors and see if that helps. 9 times out of 10 that is the problem. It also wouldn't be a bad idea to clean the harness contacts at the motors too. There is a possibility that the headlight mechanisms could use a lube. The circuit is a load sensing design that when the motors bottom or top out the lights, the load on the electrical system increases and the relay shuts off the current. If the headlights don't want to move because of crud on the hinges or the gears inside are getting worn and stick, current to the motor portion will be shut off.
