remember the graphic for the back window of my envoy i mentioned in another post, that Monte from Grapics 4 was doing, its the perferated vynal thingy that covers the whole rear window... you have seen them on pick ups and stuff...
anyway..it got here today. he fedX'd it.......
2 1/2 hrs, with Mary holding the thing, and my neighbor Mike holding the other end..and me trying to apply it without wrinkles (it doesnt bubble, its peferated)... no friggin way could we get it on there. now, im not a newbie at decals and stuff.... in fact, at f body Gathering II. Doug, 97 SS 1499 and I applied over 30 slp engineering windshield banners without a flaw or bubble... i also designed the build number graphics for the Comp TA Owners Assoc. and applied plenty of those... and other stuff... but this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! aaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhh. i think the problems were as follows:
1. it was not cut to the deminsions of the back window. it was one huge sheet that overlapped greatly , top, bottom, and sides...
2. the contour of the Envoy back window is too exagerated, unlike the flat back window of pick ups... (explains why i have not seen any on suv's yet...eh?) the material would just not lay flat and can be applied without wrinkles.... we tried and tried.
The colors ..gray , red , and stuff... they didnt look 1/2 as good as the logo below in my sig.... too blended...
so, i trimmed the thing, and we tried again to re apply it........ nope, no go.
so......im going to email monte and have him make me two seperate decals instead... one "Wolfdog Rescue Resorces, Inc" only smaller than the one on the perferated back window cover, and two, a smaller version of a wolfdog, who is Keona...
in the interim, i sat down with an exacto knife and cut out the wording and the pic of keona.....and applied them seperate, no wrinkles, no problem...
so...it aint too shabby.. ill get a day pic monyana... nice thing about it is you can see right thru it at night and day time...
man, i got cramps in my hands from little knife.. wish my video knife would have workd..hahahahahaahhaaha
