  • Feeling guitly

Tonight is just a bad night. I was riding up a road and going around a turn. When suddenly a cat ran out in front of me. I had no time to react but I tried to straddle it. I still killed it because my air deflector hit it. I kicked it into reverse to check it out. There was nobody home and nobody seen it. I thought about leaving my number or something but I didnt. I just feel bad because I killed somebodys pet

That's why our cats live indoors. Stuff like that happens.

i agree with wolfman, its not your fault. I felt bad because i had to do the same thing to a squirrel one day leaving the airforce base. Not a pet, but still an animal.

I know how you feel man. One day my friend Christina went with me to pick up my girlfriend. We're doing about 60 on the parkway and a squirrel ran out in front of me. I like animals so it wasn't too cool

Don't feel bad; it is better the cat then yourself, somebody else, or somebody else's child. I veered off to avoid a dog about 10 years ago. Since I veered off onto a dirt road, I didn't make it back onto my road before I hit the ditch. The dog, Rags, lived; and my car got a little jacked up. I followed the frightened pet home, and talked to the owners, and they paid for the damage. However, I have never altered my car for an animal since then. So many bad things could have happened like hitting a pedestrian or another car. If it comes down to hitting an animal or losing control of your car, hit the animal.

That's one of my pet peaves. Don't let your cats run loose.

You are not to blame, its the idiot owners who should be run over.

Yeah, it's not your fault. That's why my three cats never leave the house unless it is in a pet carrier. I like the fact that the city I live in has an ordinance that cats are not allowed to run free and that you can trap them if they come on your property and take them to the SPCA. Owners who let them run free like that are just asking to lose their cat or dog.

                      Avoiding animals

I knew a guy that swerved to miss a dog. He hit a telephone pole and rolled the car 2 or 3 times. They were ok but the Mercedes was totalled. Even worse, the car wasn't his and only had liability insurance. Feeling bad about hitting an animal is nothing compared to how stupid you feel having a wreck avoiding an animal.

He did 10grand worth of damage to his 2001 Gand AM. Almost writen off. He now is in huge debt and without a car He also has reacuring back problems.

My parents own 4 cats... (my dog doesn't get along with them when I'm home on break) But.... two of the cats are outdoor cats. They love to go outside. They get soo bored if they don't go. I feel that it's worth the risk to let a cat out if they want to. I think they would much rather take the chance of getting picked off by a car and being outside then getting kept inside... hands down.
