    nowi know there must be a lot of talk about this but do you have to lower the y pipe to take out the starter? is there some detaile dpictures on some website maybe if anyone knows??

    I had an 88 TPI and I dont think I had to take the stock y pipe down to change the starter. I did after I put the headers and custom y pipe.

      yeah.. i also heard that you can manuever it in such a way that it comes out without taking it down.. but i just checked with my guy over at Mineke he said 80 bucks to put it in and the starter is like 45 at auto zone im cool with that..
