This pic is from when my car was lowered 1.8" in the front... it was terrible, dragging on everything. In NJ the roads have such huge ruts in them from the 18-wheelers, that when I got both tires in the ruts, the center of the car would drag on the road. I had the HAL/QA1 shocks, switched to their drag springs, and set the front end for about a 1/2" drop because I couldn't stand getting the exhaust and the TA mount scraped up.

Wow fred that does look amazing though ( what kind of wheels are those? ) yea the more i talk to people about it it seems like the 1.3 is a much more reasonable option for the places i drive etc . . . but that 1.8 just looks soo pretty.

I've got 2" Intrax springs and do agree with Fred on the bit about being awful low. Mine haven't caused any scrapes to the car due to road contact, but on a hard bump at speed, I get a little chrip coming from the right rear side. I'm not sure what it is, I can't see where it's hit the tire yet. I need to jack up the car and really dig around. I do love the look though. I hate having all that fender gap on these cars.

I've owned and rode in a several cars that were lowered and the ride quality wasn't good. I am sold on these Intrax springs. The ride quality is a hair better than OEM, but when you press the car, it handles like on rails. The screech that I hear on the right rear is only at a full compression on a hard dip. Once I find that and correct it, she'll be a dream. The top of the inner fender arch to the ground is exactly 26.5 inches with Borbet 17x9.5 and 285/40/17s on all four corners. You can use that measurement and compare it to yours now and get an idea of how it would look. If you haven't bought the others yet, consider Intrax http://www.intraxsuspension.com/prod_springs.html if you want a good ride.

Oh, Fred's wheels in that photo are OZ MonteCarlo. They rock!

Thanks! The wheels are OZ Racing Monte Carlo's in 17x9.5. They don't make them any more... I put them on the car in 1995, and replaced them with ZR1 replicas in 2000. In that picture, the back end was only down about 1". Probably could have gone a little lower. But the roads in NJ suck.

Also, at the time I was running a Y-pipe with cats on both sides, and the drivers side cat becomes the low point on the car, because there is no dent in the floor for it to fit into. And I was running the Spohn front torque arm mount, which was also dropped quite a bit below the floor of the car. A more "stock" car wouldn't have those problems.

Joe i agree with you 100% on the fender gap . . . i mean look at this pic.
She looks like im about to take her offroading. I havent bought them yet, mainly because i am still torn between how much lower i want it, i have a friend with a ws6 thats got those same springs and i love how it looks but he always tells me its too low. i think um guna give them a try though because i love the look and if worse comes to worse i have to get a different set and sell them. its worth a shot to me.

(3 tries and i cant get them to work so if you are that dedicated you can put the link in your browser i guess )

This is my buddys 01 ws6 its 2" lower i think it looks amazing.

Check the pics Nick and they seem to work fine for me if I use the IMG tags. Edit your post and put these around the links to the pics and see what happens...

                  [img][/img]

...as your pics should end up like this...

                  1st pic -

                  2nd pic -

I hear ya on the stance. As much as I like the look of the Z, it would look awesome dropped. But, with the roads and driveways around here, I don't think I can get away with it.

                  *** EDIT ***

Now the pics are working for me in your post. Strange

You will definately need to be careful when driving, especially when pulling into certain parking lots with steep angles, parking curb stops, etc. You'll know it when you see it.

if your really into lowerd look you could bag it and then when driving bump up ride hight. Not really good for performance though.

Was it the white 97 SS?? I saw a write up for that in CHP magazine where they did the install. They couldnt believe the difference that the bags made. They did some laps around a road course before and after to compare the times and there was a huge improvemnt with the bags.
As for springs, after I did the pro-kit I could not imagine going any lower than that. I have to be carefull on alot of curbs and driving too fast over bumps and dips(even worse with people onboard). Train tracks are the worst. My buddy did the sportlines not too long after I did mine and he wishes that he did not go that low, he scrapes on almost everything. He has the stock salad shooter wheels so it could be worse with larger wheels and tires.
