  • Is this a fair price for clutch labor? >>

Clutch Mart in Hayward (bay area, CA) wants 250$ to replace
my clutch (labor) with slave replacement. Is this a little steep
    or good?

I am supplying the clutch (and the parts ... slave cylinder, pressure plate, flywheel, etc).

also anyone know where the best place to get OE GM slave cylinder.

    thanks,

$250 for labor only is not bad at all.

Look at the various online sellers of OE GM parts, for the slave cyl. *** You want to get the one for 2001-on, it's an updated design.

While you're at it, drill out the restrictor in the hydraulic hose. If you need info on how to do that, let me know.

That job probably books for 4+ hrs. 250 is cheap, especially if you are providing the parts - because they aren't making anything on selling you them.

        re

        thanks for all the replies.

I looked around at several stores for labor install prices
under the above conditions. I got price quotes:
        250 (clutch Mart),275, 314, 400 (250 being the lowest). and the
dealership 450$ being the highest (but only installs
        stock clutch).
