  • Should I stay in the LT1 world?

Just changed the water pump on my car and now I now have enough money built up to start modding my car with a lot of performance mods. But now I have two options. Option 1 is to start modding my LT1 and option 2 is to sell my LT1 and upgrade to an LS1. What would you do? It is cheaper to spend the money on the LT1 and I do prefer the styling of the LT1 cars over the LS1's. But the fact that the LS1 has better performance is a sticking point. I'm .

Take the money you would spend upgrading to an LS1, put it into your LT1, and it will make more power. Just my .02. You're right, the earlier 4th gens are much nicer looking, IMO. Stick with the LT1, it's an awesome motor, just doesn't make as much power as the LS1... But it can

If you like the style of the LT1 better, then it's a no brainer. Stick to the LT1! Plus LT1's sound better!

Another vote for the LT1!! LT1 Camaros look better than LS1 Camaros.

If you were into Firebirds, I'd say the LS1 car looks just as good.

You might want to leave your mods reversible though, so you can sell them seperate from the car someday.

Yeah i was wrestling (spelling?) around with this same thing. Should i sell the LT-1 and get an LS-1? But, through many sleepless nights, I decided that i wanted to keep my Lt-1 cuz think about it, if you get an Ls-1 you have to start all over again from scratch. I dont know if you have any mods on your Lt-1 but i have smoked my fair share of Ls-1's, so if i were to go out and get an Ls-1, i would be going backwards. So keep that Lt-1 and mod the crap out of it and then go out hunting for mustangs.

Easy decision if you like the styling of the LT1 cars. Stick with the LT1 - there is no reason you cannot make that LT1 as powerful as you want! Only reason to switch would be the styling - the LS1 has more power out of the box but with mods the LT1s can run with them.

                    And for what its worth - 93-97 Z28 > 98-02 but the 98-02 T/As and Formulas > 93-97 T/As - just my $.02
