    350 bored 30 over .
    forged crank and pistons
    cam advanced 4 degrees .
holley aluminium intake and 650 holley carb .
He told me it was right close to 300 hp dose this sound right to you guys ?

Here is a pic of the car the exterior is in pretty good shape . the interior needs some work but not alot

umm... it really depends all in how good condition your engine is ... do you know what it has for power stock?

Depends on the cam specs, size of the valves, etc. What you do have listed sounds like parts to support that HP. Wonder why the cam is advanced 4 degrees? Usually that is done to shift the powerband lower in the rpms. Does the idle have a lope to it?

Stomp on the accellerator and if it leaves black rubber marks for about 10 feet - he's telling the truth.

As others said above, depends on what shape the engine is in. But I will say I LOVE the color! Very nice ride!

I love the 2nd gens! The bottom end sounds good, and it will support a lot of power depending on what parts he used. Does the seller know the specs (duration/lift) of the cam, or at least the manufacturer/part number? four degrees advanced is a lot on the cam, curious as to why he did that for this application; I am usually a chicken and stay around one or two, but he may know more then me. Was there any porting done to the heads? Finally, pull the valve covers, and find out the casting number on the heads. Oh, Did he regrind the valves when the motor was built...how were they done? If you find out the answers to these questions, you can get a pretty good picture of where your motor is at. If the dude knew at all what he was doing, that sounds about right; what did he do for exhaust? Just removing the y-pipe and single pellet converter and putting in true duals with headers and high flow cats does a LOT for those cars. The stock exhaust on those cars is like pushing air through jello.

If he truly put in a forged crank and forged pistons, you can have a LOT of fun with that car. I would be saving up for a wild head, cam, Intake combo ...maybe a nitrous system. The car looks cool though. I think you will enjoy it!!! Have Fun!!!

My first Camaro... I was 16 and it was a 78... had more rust than you could shake a stick at; but I didn't care. All I knew was that when I put the pedal to the floor it hauled....

Many a Saturday night was spent on the backroads with friends, a case of beer, a pack of smokes and the 78...

                Memories....

Well the guy that built my car dose it for a living .... so i am pretty sure he knows what he is doing with the cam advanced four degrees I talked to him on the phone again and from what he says he built it so that you can stomp on it from idle and almost break your neck

I am not sure what exhaust it has on it but i will take to to where i work and pull it over a pit and take a look . I work part time for the school district . I work out of the bus shop so i can use the pits anytime i want

the engine only has about 6000 miles on it since it was built so it should be in great shape .
