  • LT1 ScanMaster.

    http://www.ls1speed.com/catagory.cfm?catagory=pcm

I have been seeing a lot of people on the board have a scan master. What does it exactly do and what is the difference between the scanmaster/translator package and just thescanmaster?

    Thanks

The ScanMaster LT1 is a scanner that allows you to view in real time, about 20 sensors and other PCM parameters. An extremely useful tool for understanding how your engine is controlled, and identifying problems.

I've got an online "manual" for the ScanMaster that has probably sold more people on buying one than anything the manufacturer has ever done.

The ScanMaster simply allows you to view the engine sensors, and some of the PCM's calculated values (injector pulse widths, long term fuel corrections, etc.), and any trouble codes (94/95 only). Can't do anything else.

The MAF Translator is a module that goes into your wiring between the MAF sensor and the PCM, that allows you to allter the closed loop and PE mode A/F ratio. The upgrade model also allows you to tweek the ignition timing.

They are two completely different devices, that just happen to both be sold by RamChargers, which merged with the outfit that invented them.
