305 TBI correct engine timing

Can someone tell me the correct timing setting for a 305 TBI motor completley stock.. thanks

305 timing

I am not sure about an 87 305 in a pontiac but I have a 91 GMC truck with a 305 TBI and the timing is 0 degrees TDC (top dead center). With every car I buy I always go to Auto Zone or PepBoys, etc., and buy a Haynes Repair Manual. They are a life saver sometimes. Hope this helps.

LO3 Timing

A stock 305TBI (aka LO3) should be set at 0 degrees. This is because the factory cam has 4 degrees of initial advance in it already. Sounds weird, but it works. If you have an aftermarket cam, your mileage may vary. Hope that helps
