I have a small problem. I was going to build a nice set of L98 heads for my 383. I got a set off ebay but upon closer inspection they are the swirl port style. Is it worth it to even entertain the idea of using them or should I just use the set of 1970 350 heads i have and have them ported. Both heads are 1.94/1.505 and both are in great shape. I could I guess, diegrind out the swirl on the newer heads but it does seem like alot of work. My next consern is weather my acc. plate will bolt to the 1970 heads.

both heads are the 65cc both have 1.94/1.5 but of course I will have to re-drill my intake for the 1970 heads The 1970 heads come from the 350hp 350 in the vette that year ( took them from the vette my self ) The motor itself is finished I just need a good set of heads with 1.94 intakes which is almost impossible for the aftermarket (2.02 is the common ones). The engine is a 1970 350 bored .30 over and stroked for 382.97 cubes. The first set of heads I was using were the edelbrock aluminum RPM but they made me lose to much torque down low with the big valves then we put on a set of ported L98 1.94/1.5 heads and they worked great for torque down low and not to bad for HP up top. I WILL NOT be running this engine over 5000 RPM ever. It is a street only motor and I am using the 89 TPI system with 30# injectors and an extrude honed base intake. Stock throttle body and runners. This system works well to 5500 RPM but then restrictions in the intake make me run out of air. The bottom end of the engine is fully forged. with flat top pistons with two valve relief’s.
